In Kilmakee we support many different charites. These charites are close to the hearts of much of the congregation. Below you will find out a bit about the charities and also links to their websites if you would like to find out more, but most importantly we would ask that you keep all these charities, and the work that they do in your prayers.

We put Christ at the centre of all we do. Our desire is to show the love of Christ to those in greatest need.
We aim to help children develop economically, physically, socially and spiritually. This enables them to become adults who can make an impact on the world around them.
We partner with local churches, and can facilitate local Christians to teach, train and mentor children.

In nearly 50 countries, we work with the people at the frontline of change: our 600 overseas partner organisations. They tackle poverty and its causes. From finding better ways of farming in the Bolivian altiplano, to protecting women raped and forced from their homes in Darfur, they're there. They know what's needed. They know how to deliver change.
Through our partner organisations, we reach some of the poorest communities on earth. Our partners tell us the stories: of hardship and disaster, of change and heroism, of the tenacity and resolve it takes to survive, and of the victory of building a life.
These local organisations don't have to parachute in aid; they are already on the scene when disaster strikes. They know the culture, they know the politics, they know how to deliver the real, practical benefits that people need. Most of all, they're there for the long term. After the cameras have gone and the journalists have flown home, our partners remain.

Our vision is of a world in which justice and sustainable development are at the heart of trade structures and practices so that everyone, through their work, can maintain a decent and dignified livelihood and develop their full potential.
To achieve this vision, Fairtrade seeks to transform trading structures and practices in favour of the poor and disadvantaged. By facilitating trading partnerships based on equity and transparency, Fairtrade contributes to sustainable development for marginalised producers, workers and their communities. Through demonstration of alternatives to conventional trade and other forms of advocacy, the Fairtrade movement empowers citizens to campaign for an international trade system based on justice and fairness
Our four key areas of activity are:
- Providing an independent certification of the trade chain, licensing use of the FAIRTRADE Mark as a consumer guarantee on products
- Facilitating the market to grow demand for Fairtrade and enable producers to sell to traders and retailers
- Working with our partners to support producer organisations and their networks
- Raising public awareness of the need for Fairtrade and the importance of the FAIRTRADE Mark
The most important thing you can do to help fairtrade is to buy Fairtrade products and encourage others to do so also but if you would like to find out more or make a donation please visit http://www.fairtrade.org.uk/

Tearfund is a Christian relief and development agency working with a global network of local churches to help eradicate poverty. Our ten-year vision is to see 50 million people released from material and spiritual poverty through a worldwide network of 100,000 local churches.
Two words that can clear a room fastest? Global poverty.
But at Tearfund we have a vision: the local church working at its best, being what it was made to be. United. Loving its neighbour both right on the doorstep and where love's needed most. Making connections across the world between the people with resources and the people who desperately need them. Letting people here at home be part of a miracle, a miracle that sees people in poverty at last able to make real changes. And the help they're getting from their local church and the hope they're experiencing has a transforming power. Lives are being transformed. Today, through our work, this is a reality - this is the miracle we're witnessing.

Rock Of Joy Children's Centre
As many of you already know, Kelly has been heavily involved with the Rock of Joy Childrens centre in Uganda. Pastor Kimbowa's big vision is to have a school which is entirely self sufficient, providing a high standard of education on all levels to these children. Training them also in life and job skills. Ultimately providing them with a safe environment in which to learn, this is incorporated in the boarding sections of the school which are growing as resources allow. It does not stop here, it is hoped that through this others in the community will also become inspired and will be given an opportunity to learn and more forward. Rock of Joy does some vital work for the community in Uganda, if you would like to help out or find out more please visit www.rockofjoy.org or www.the-kabanda-trust.org.uk
